Use the Burn/Dodge Tool to selectively lighten or darken specific areas in a picture. Select either the Dodge (Lighten) or Burn (Darken) mode from PixelNEO's Option Panel. Then hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor over the areas in the photograph you wish to affect. To increase the effect, drag the mouse across the same area multiple times, releasing and re-pressing the mouse button between each pass.

You can limit the effects of this tool to specific parts of the picture using the Option Panel's Mode Selector. The Midtones mode changes only pixels in middle range of grays in the picture. The Highlights mode will modify only the light pixels. Select the Shadows mode to change only dark pixels in the picture.


The Option Panel also includes controls to adjust the size and shape of this tool.


To uniformly lighten or darken an entire picture, use the Brightness/Contrast, Levels or Curves commands instead.
