Scan/Acquire Image
The Scan/Acquire Image command allows you to access most types of WIA and TWAIN compatible devices connected to your computer. WIA (Windows Image Acquisition) is an interface that enables graphics software to communicate with imaging hardware such as scanners, digital cameras and Digital Video-equipment. TWAIN is an alternative interface primarily used with scanners an digital cameras.
PixelNEO will interface directly with the software and driver included with your WIA or TWAIN device. Therefore, the interface that you will use to interact with your scanner or camera will vary depending on its type, model and manufacturer. For information about using your scanner, digital camera, etc., refer to that device's documentation.
The Scan Select Source command provides you with a list of available scanners, digital cameras, etc. currently connected to your computer. If you have more than one such device installed, then it's generally a good idea to use this command prior to the Acquire Image command below to make sure that you have selected the correct device. If the same device includes both WIA and TWAIN drivers, select the WIA driver as it will generally work better with Windows-based software like PixelNEO.
To import an image from your scanner or digital camera, select the Scan Acquire Image command. This will launch the software that was installed with your scanner or digital camera. Once you have successfully processed an image with your WIA/TWAIN device, it will be loaded automatically into PixelNEO for editing.
